Understanding Irradiance when it comes to Red Light Therapy

The simplest way to define irradiance is to think of it as the light received from a light source. When it comes to red light therapy, irradiance is key because it measures the intensity of the light coming from the therapeutic device. Irradiance can be increased and decreased to treat different conditions, and can also be modified by placing the light at varying differences (usually between 6"-24") away from the treatment area.
